Hey hey! Well, my name is Sasha (Chas, ChaCha, or Chach) depending on your mood, and I am a 29-year-old single mama, to that cute little nugget up there!
My life has always been intertwined with some type of creative realm. Growing up in a family of musicians, artists, and performers, it was inevitable for me to have that same calling. From 7-years-old to 16-years-old, my life was fully dedicated to dance. It was the only thing I knew, until it wasn’t. After tearing both my hamstrings and being in a car accident all within the span of two months, dance was something that I wasn’t sure I would ever get back.
I started suffering from depression, anxiety, and OCD around that time, if not earlier, and my life battle truly began at age 16. With dance no longer a career option for me, I attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising to venture off into a career of retail design, merchandising, and marketing. During my time at school, I had to take a medical leave of absence to lay in bed for three months. My depression got so bad, but I wasn’t ready to professionally handle it yet. It wasn’t until two years later that seeking professional help was my only option.
Depression, anxiety, and OCD has taken a lot out of me through the years, but it is always something I knew would never ruin me completely. I couldn’t allow it to, regardless of how badly it got. Whether I was a teenager, a young adult, a wife, an ex-wife, a preggo lady, a new mom, a single mom, and a mom to an autistic baby, I knew it could never be my demise. I had too much to share and deep down I knew my battles were for a reason. Which is how TCB came to be.
My goal with this blog is to not only to provide inspiration, information, and some chuckles here and there, but to create a community of positivity and open communication. I wish blogs were as popular as they are now, back when I really needed it, so if this outlet can help someone at all, my goal will be complete. I hope you enjoy this journey with me and I so look forward to getting to know all of you!
