9 Makeup Trends for Fall 2018

As we are approaching the end of August, it’s time to start preparing for fall. If you go to Home Goods, they’re already preparing for Thanksgiving, so we need to get our shit together.

As seen during Fashion Week, these are the beauty trends to start fantasizing about and the products you need to achieve each look.

 Flushed Cheeks:

fallWhen being in the cold our cheeks tend to get a little rosier directly on the apples. This fall, we are saying goodbye to our “barely-there” makeup and amping up the blush.  To achieve this look focus some extra blush right on the apples of the cheeks, close to the nose. Utilize products such as this:

Sephora Collection Colorful Face Powder
Shade: Shame On You
3.5 g

90’s Lipstick:

 Blue Eyeliner:

This trend has to be done with some finesse so you avoid looking like you time traveled back to the 80’s, but done correctly, this looks gorgeous. Take a liner pencil and line your upper and lower lids. Proceed to smudge it out to create a casual smokey look. Here is an eyeliner I love that is easy to smoke out.

Sunkissed Eyes:

There’s nothing more pleasing than an eyeshadow palette full of oranges, peaches, reds, and pinks…Basically a sunset in a palette. Lucky for you these have been huge since last spring and will continue to be huge all through fall. Here is my all time favorite palette to achieve a gorgeous eye look.

 Two-Tone Lips:

We’ve seen this trend before, but instead of going for two full different shades, this trend is best achieved by using a light hand for the top lip and blotting it out with a finger, and then having a full coverage application on the bottom. Try using this product below:

Double Winged Liner:

If you’re sick of trying to perfect that liquid winged liner in the mornings, try this edgy approach. Take a nice satin grey eyeshadow on the bottom and top lash lines and create two winged lines parallel to each other. This can be softly diffused so there is no possible opportunity for error. Here is a gorgeous gray eyeshadow that isn’t too harsh that will help you create this look.

Dewy Skin:

Dewy skin is in and if it comes naturally to you, you’re very lucky. If you’re like me, you hate dewy foundation. I hate the feeling of it being tacky or wet on my skin all day and feel the need to set it with setting powder immediately. But, since I want to be trendy, here is how I achieve a dewy look without the lack of comfort. This stuff is a bestseller for a reason, guys.

Abstract Eyeliner:

We take our eyeliner pretty seriously around here. Our wings are the perfect width and dramatically flared but the road to getting there is difficult. Instead of taking things so seriously, Fall/Winter fashion week showed us it’s for us to have a little fun. There are absolutely no rules what so ever, you just need a great liquid or gel liner to work with.

Colored Mascara :

If you prefer to go more simple on your eyes but still want a little pop of something, try colored mascara. Especially this Marc Jacobs one. Choose a color that best compliments your eyes and go make flirty eye contact with just about everyone…except creeps.
